About Us
Hi! Welcome to Emerge! We’re the tribe for ministry innovators in emerging nations, especially Asia. We are totally committed to living as disciples of Jesus and sharing his teachings as widely as possible with those who have not heard and we do this vital work in a special way:
We’re Young! Since 90% of all faith conversions occur before age 25 we focus the majority of our attention on that age group. This calls for younger missionaries and a younger style and method of outreach.
We Network! We don’t claim to be the only or the greatest organization out there. Impacting Asia with the Gospel is a huge task that calls for greater collaboration than ever before in missions history. We actively seek partnerships and networking relationships with as many groups as possible. Only by working together we can hope to reach this generation.
We’re Positive and Respectful! Even if we disagree with a person’s religion, values or politics we pledge to treat them with respect. Ours is a world filled with many points of view. We pledge to listen carefully and speak in love in all our dealings. Nobody was ever won to Christ through criticism and scorn. Jesus said that people would recognize his disciples by the love they display. We want to let Jesus shine through our eyes and love through our acts of service.
We use Media! This generation’s values and beliefs are strongly shaped by the sea of media in which they are immersed. The Christian community must meet them there and join the ongoing dialog. We believe that today’s pastors, prophets and evangelists must become skilled at using all the modern forms of communication at our disposal to make the greatest impact on the broadest and do all we can to equip them in these new skills. We can even help in the launching of new media ministries like film, radio and TV stations!
Our mission is to nurture high-impact Christian change agents for the harvest of Asia.
What We Do to Fulfill Our Mission
- Train Christian communicators at Media Light in Chiang Rai, Thailand and through events, media and online.
- Demonstrate effective new generation ministry in our own outreaches and by networking freely with other innovative ministries.
- Advocate within the Asian church for more creative use of existing media opportunities and Assist in the establishment of new media ministries (radio, TV, print, new media) in Asia.
- Support emerging leaders as they launch new ministry initiatives in nations throughout the region.
Our primary activities involve many forms of outreach, media training and ministry support for emerging leaders in Southeast Asia. In partnership with United Christian Broadcasters International (UCBmedia.com) we help to establish radio and TV stations in Asian nations.

Media Light is a new kind of training center. Is is a ten week total immersion experience. Ten weeks to change your life. During this season you will learn about your strengths and weaknesses, build spiritual muscle, and learn skills in leadership and modern communication methods. We have the most important message in the world. Our goal is to equip you to be a powerful communicator to your generation.
We believe that our generation can only be reached by emerging Christian leaders strongly marked by four characteristics which make up the core of our program:
- Radical Obedience to the teachings and person of Jesus Christ as absolute Lord.
- Deep spirituality that keeps you balanced, healthy and growing for life.
- Strong leadership skills that help create movements, not just churches.
- Creative and competent communication abilities especially in the use of modern media.
Vision: We see…
- A generation arising from the 10/40 Window nations with passion for Christ and unbridled zeal to communicate the gospel to their peoples through the effective use of all media forms.
- The Asian church expressing its faith in Christ through Asian forms of community, worship and the arts.
- Campuses across Asia churning with a visitation from the Holy Spirit.
- Emerging leaders competently harvesting Asia and acting as agents of cultural change despite hardship and persecution.
- Emerge team members contributing to this move of God through our passionate engagement with next generation leaders who have been shaped and given skills in preparation for their unique mission in these last days.
Our Core Values
Relationships: Since community is at the root of everything God does we are committed to living as a relational ministry. We actively seek out ministry networking opportunities with those who share a similar vision of ministry. Our approach to evangelism is patient and relational. We are in this for the long-haul and are seeking lifetime relationships on the field, in partnerships, and among our team members.
Creativity: We believe the creativity is worship wherever you find it and that excellence in innovation and design should mark everything we do as children of the Creator-God.
Obedience-based discipleship: We believe that a Christian is a person who obeys the teachings of Jesus and teaches others to do the same. We attempt to model the ways of Jesus as we live in Asia and to pass on his life-giving teachings to all who will listen. In doing this we fulfill the great commission (Matt. 28.18-20).
Respect: All cultures, people and religions deserve respect. We will treat every life, point of view and every story as sacred.
Positivity: God is positive. The Gospel is Positive. We carry a positive attitude and message wherever we go, leaving encouragement and blessing as we carry the aroma of Christ among the nations. (2 Cor. 2.14)
Integrity: We will endeavor to see the true integration of what we believe and how we live. Our handling of money and reporting of events and activities will be accurate and trustworthy so that we can honor the name of the Lord among the nations.
